Rune Guneriussen. It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. I haven’t really felt very bloggy lately, but I came across this amazing artsit, and I had to share. Rune Guneriussen is an artist “working in the transition between installation and photography,” and I absolutely love what he has created. He creates installation pieces all around Norway and his approach to his art is different from many artists today in the fact that “as an artist he believes strongly that art itself should be questioning and bewildering as opposed to patronising and restricting. As opposed to the current fashion he does not want to dictate a way to the understanding of his art, but rather indicate a path to understanding a story.” Check out some photographs of his amazing art.
Check out his website for more of his work. In case you can’t tell, the installations of lamps are by far my favorite. There is something about the different ornate lamp bases and lamp shades and the middle of the natural landscape that strikes me as less discordant than the other images. Maybe because they remind of stars, or lightning bugs, or something. Whatever it is, I’m definitely a fan.
