So a couple of years ago on a trip to Greenville, SC, my husband and I stumbled in to Mast General Store where they were featuring the work of a local artist there. Her name was Lily — hence the name of her line of jewelry, Lily Pottery. Basically she uses ceramics to create jewelry. According to the biography for her etsy shop, “Each wearable piece of art is hand-crafted using one-of-a-kind stamps and customized glazes designed by the artist herself.” I’ve dabbled in ceramics, throwing pots on the wheel and glazing them, and it’s not an easy process! When you glaze something, before it’s fired in a kiln, you never know how it’s going to turn out. It’s kind of a big surprise! Anyway, she creates each piece of “wearable art” in her studio located in downtown Greenville.
I just love the idea of her entire collection. I could post everything from her shop on here, but you’re just going to have to check it out for yourself! Don’t forget how important it is to support your local artists!
