let’s get nauti

Standard

See what I did there? So I read somewhere that nautical is really in this Spring. I’m not positive where I read that, or if it’s even true. Sometimes I just make these things up. But regardless, that’s the focus of this post. Nautical themed items. When I was little, I used to have this little red nautical outfit, complete with a sailor color and stripes. The color tied with a square knot, and I think I used to make my mom tie it at least 15 times a day. But then again, I probably made that up, too. Okay, so I’m not doing so hot by way of introduction to this topic, so let’s just “sail” right in to it.

What do you think? Is this a trend you could pull off? I know a couple of people (sister) who have been rocking the anchors for a while now. I’ve always been a fan myself, but now it’s taking over every aspect of fashion! I think I’m particularly drawn to it because I love stripes. I know they’re not particularly flattering for someone of my body type, but that hasn’t ever stopped me before, so why should it stop me now? I’ll be rocking these nautical stripes all summer long. Right along with my boat shoes! I’m all set! Now I just need a piece or two of nautical jewelry. I’m particularly a fan of the entire Kate Spade line. Another reason I like this trend, because it’s not totally in your face. I think it is quite subtle, and I’m all about subtly adding one or two trendy items to my wardrobe. That way I can appear to be up to date on my fashion while still rocking the same old clothes. Unless anyone wants to chip in for a new wardrobe? : )
