Can you imagine creating a painting in which you didn’t once use a paintbrush? That’s just what artist Amy Shackleton does. Her method of painting is unique in that she applies her paint directly to the canvas, and allows it to drip to create the look she wants. She strategically rotates the canvas to achieve the desired effect. (mymodernmet) While most of Amy’s paintings appear to be landscapes or cityscapes, she often juxtaposes the natural world with the urban world to create a unique blend in the subject of her paintings.

According to Amy, each piece takes about 35 hours over the course of a couple of weeks to complete one painting. Can you imagine that kind of dedication? I am not a patient person. ceramic ornaments

With the holidays quickly approaching, I’m trying my best to get into the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, that’s been slightly difficult down in Columbia where it’s averaging in the upper 70’s lately. I can’t even handle all of that warmth. One of my favorite things about Christmas is continuously adding to my Christmas ornament collection. My mom has about 9234802934 boxes of ornaments. Meanwhile, at our hose, our ornaments fit in one box. So we’re constantly looking to add more! Combining my love of Christmas with my love of ceramics and pottery, I’ve decided to share with y’all a collection of some ceramic Christmas ornaments. There is something about these ornaments that appeals to me. I don’t know that there is anything overwhelmingly special about them, but I really enjoy them.
